Employee Rights & Responsibilities

What you can expect at work, and what's expected of you in return.

Purpose

Working well together is a two-way street. This guide sets out what you can expect at Nexus Group, and what we expect of you in return.

Your rights at work

  • A safe and healthy workplace — free from unreasonable risks to your health and safety.
  • Fair treatment — decisions about your work are made fairly and consistently.
  • Freedom from discrimination, bullying and harassment — see the Bullying & Harassment and Equal Employment Opportunity policies.
  • Privacy — your personal information is handled in line with the Privacy Policy.
  • To be consulted — about changes that affect your work or safety.
  • To raise concerns — without fear of being treated unfairly for doing so.
  • Your pay and entitlements — as set out in Pay & leave.

Your responsibilities

  • Work safely — follow safe work procedures and look out for others.
  • Follow reasonable instructions — and ask if something isn’t clear.
  • Be reliable — attend when rostered, be on time, and let your supervisor know if you’ll be late or away (see Employment Conditions).
  • Treat people with respect — colleagues, customers and the public.
  • Communicate professionally — in line with the Communication Policy.
  • Protect confidential and personal information — share it only with those who need it.
  • Report concerns — hazards, incidents, mistakes or anything that doesn’t seem right.
  • Act with honesty and integrity — as set out in the Code of Conduct.

If something’s not right

Talk to your supervisor or People & Culture. If it’s a safety issue, report it through the hazard form. You won’t be disadvantaged for raising a genuine concern.
