Purpose
This is a plain-English summary of the everyday conditions of working at Nexus Group. For the detail on pay and entitlements, see Pay & leave; your letter of offer and any applicable award or agreement set out your specific terms.
Work hours
Standard full-time hours are 38 per week, usually Monday to Friday. Office hours are generally 8:30am–5:00pm, with start and finish times agreed with your manager. Retail, distribution and care roles work rostered hours that suit their sites and customers.
Breaks
You’re entitled to rest and meal breaks during your shift. Take your breaks — they help you stay safe, focused and well. Your manager will let you know the arrangement for your team or site.
Attendance and punctuality
Being reliable matters to your team and our customers. Arrive ready to start on time, and be back from breaks promptly. If something affects your attendance, talk to your manager early.
Notifying absences
If you’re unwell or can’t make it in, tell your manager as soon as possible — ideally before your start time — so the team can plan. Apply for planned leave in advance through the leave form.
Leave
You can access annual leave, personal/carer’s leave and other leave types as set out in the Leave Policy. Apply through the leave form; your manager reviews and approves it.
Flexible work
We support flexible work where it suits the role and the team. See the Flexible Work policy for the options and how to request them.
Supervision and check-ins
You’ll have a manager or team leader who supports your work, answers questions and helps you prioritise. Regular check-ins are a normal part of working here — a chance to talk about how things are going and what you need.
Probation and reviews
New employees usually have an initial period to settle in, with extra support and feedback. Beyond that, performance check-ins happen through the Performance Management process — focused on support and growth.
Workplace records
We keep accurate records of hours, leave and pay. Check your details are correct and let People & Culture know if anything needs updating.
