About
Working in a team
How we work well together at Nexus Group — with your team, your supervisor and across the business.
Know your team and roles
- Understand what your role covers and where it fits — see your position profile.
- Know who your supervisor and team leader are, and who does what around you.
- Respect that everyone has a part to play in the team’s results.
Work with your supervisor
- Keep them informed about progress, delays and anything that could become a problem.
- Ask for clarification or help early — it’s part of doing the job well.
- Follow lawful and reasonable instructions, and raise concerns respectfully.
Share information and consult
- Share what others need to do their work — don’t sit on information.
- Take part in team meetings and toolbox talks, and contribute your ideas.
- Record decisions and actions so the team stays on the same page.
Support each other
- Offer help when a teammate is stretched, and ask when you are.
- Give and receive feedback about the work, not the person.
- Look out for each other’s safety and wellbeing.
Handle differences respectfully
- Listen to understand, and assume good intent.
- Sort small issues directly and calmly where you can.
- For anything that can’t be resolved, use the grievance process.
See who's who in teams & functions and the
organisation chart. How we treat each other is set
out in the Code of Conduct; if a concern can't be
resolved, the Grievance Resolution policy explains the steps.
