Purpose
Social media is part of everyday life and a valuable way to connect with customers and communities. This policy helps you use it in a way that protects you, your colleagues and Nexus Group’s reputation.
When this applies
This policy applies whenever you can be identified as a Nexus Group employee — on official Nexus channels, and on your personal accounts when you mention your employer, colleagues, customers or our work.
Do
- Be respectful and professional, just as you would in person.
- Protect confidential information — never post customer details, internal documents, financial data or anything not already public.
- Make it clear views are your own when posting personal opinions (e.g. “views my own”).
- Think before you post — assume anything online could become public and permanent.
- Report problems — if you see content that harms Nexus Group or a person, tell Marketing & Communications.
Don’t
- Don’t post anything that is discriminatory, harassing, bullying or threatening.
- Don’t share customer or colleague information or images without consent.
- Don’t speak on behalf of Nexus Group unless you’re authorised to do so.
- Don’t use Nexus Group logos or brand assets for personal posts (see Brand basics).
Official channels
Only authorised team members in Marketing & Communications post on official Nexus Group accounts. If a customer raises a complaint or sensitive issue on social media, don’t respond directly — refer it to Customer Service and Marketing & Communications so it’s handled consistently.
Getting it wrong
Breaches of this policy are managed under the Code of Conduct. If in doubt about a post, ask your manager or Marketing & Communications first.
